How Do Happy Times Strengthen Minds and Bodies, Plus Our Potential?

B'SD

15 Shvat, 5776

The answer to my blogpost's title is this: With focus on the wholesome goal you need. Read on.

Today is the Jewish holiday of Tu B'Shvat, the New Year for trees. I spoke of the ecologic, historic and spiritual reality about that to participants in the party I made at my synagogue last night.

Here are a few photos of the fun we enjoyed.

Israeli law forbids citizens to post online photos of minors without the documented permission of their parents/guardians. This is to protect them from evildoers. So, I can't post more party pix as kids tend to show up in several of them. But their families have the pix to treasure.

This photo is of the craft project they worked on: Coloring a tree, folding the bottom into a square, decorating the whole thing with stickers, and setting the colorful item into a square holder. Then they planted sprouting garlics and inserted the live greenery into their pot holder. I took a shot that I call The Kidcraft Garden.

People with special food needs enjoyed my home made sushi, gluten-free crackers, those coconut mint carob rounds, plus quinoa mixed with sweet potato and sauteed onion. The regular diners enjoyed the couscous I'd made plus the home cooked food that other participants brought..

The healing efforts I make are blessed from Above to help me to see ever-better. It was a blessing to be part of the fun depicted in today's blogpost. Here's a picture of me wearing the 21st pair of prescription lenses since 2006.

I'm in the gray hat, standing next to one of the artists who displayed their works at the event I'd arranged.

Yes, my glasses are hard to spot: the lenses are so thin that I bought wire frames instead of recycling an older, thicker pair that are no longer suited to the job.

Want to listen to a song I'm following this week?

The lyrics speak of a man whose heart cries with pain at the suffering of his beloved. He tries to grasp her hands as he speaks words that he prays will soothe her; "GOD sees and hears everything from above, forgets nothing, and will fulfill the heavenly promise to sweeten our lives. The blood of innocents, including soldiers who died defending other people's lives, the agony will never be forgotten nor forgiven. A new light will shine throughout the universe. A lovely dove will inscribe peace upon blue and white skies. We'll be safe in our ancestral home."

It is the metaphor for GOD's relationship to His People.

Meanwhile, let's do the best we can to perfect our personalities.

Happiness strengthen our minds and bodies, let alone our potential.

A Loving Look at Alzheimer's, and How to Deal with It

B'SD

11 Shvat, 5776

If you or someone you know is dealing with a relative or friend with Alzheimer's, let them know that they're not alone in the confusing situation. It baffles the best of us, as you'll learn from the blogpost below.

My friend Miriam Green writes the exceptional The Lost Kitchen blog, packed with love, insight and good recipes.

Cherishing Life Despite Hardships, a How-to.

B'SD

8/9 Shvat, 5776

It's after nightfall here in Israel, a new day. I've spent much of the daylight hours crying, sighing and praying due to the recent terrorist murder of an ideal Israeli.

My composure is somewhat recovered, my energies directed toward preparing for my synagogue's Tu B'Shvat celebration this coming Sunday night. I'm in charge of the program.

This Hebrew-language video explains to children that we cherish the life deep inside plants, the potential for goodness, though superficial appearances deceive us into seeing what appears to be lifelessness.

Israelis spend the holiday praising the special foods grown in the Holy Land, and planting trees.

Perhaps you'd like to spend some time praying for the safety of innocents and celebrating the sweetness of life with me.

I plan to blog again after I've cooked up some holiday foods for the forthcoming party.

The best response to sorrow is to dig deep inside yourself, decide on a noble response, a life-embracing perspective, then to live up to your principles.

Caving in to sorrow as a lifestyle is a recipe for disaster, personal and otherwise.

Empower yourself to make wholesome progress.

Does Your Baby's Diaper Pose Health Dangers? Do Your Hygiene Products?

B'SD

2 Shvat, 5776

It's the Jewish month of Shvat, as I wrote earlier, and time to focus on wholesome nature.

I've blogged before about the dangers posed to the public by manufacturers who add health-harming chemicals into hygiene, cosmetic and household products, here, here, here, and elsewhere.

Think your feminine hygiene products are safe, ladies? Think again.

A scientist and friend just sent me a link to update you about the threats to your whole family's health. You need to read

By the way, if your child wears disposable diapers with a gel to absorb moisture so that you can do fewer diaper changes, ask yourself "Is the convenience worth a risk of causing cancer or other health problems in my little one?" Even non-gel dipes are problematic.

Health food shops carry non-threatening hygiene products.

Gripe all you want about the price, but consider the cost-effectiveness about dealing with cancers that could have been avoided for a bit more money at the cash register.

Go ahead, look all over the Internet for glyphosate-free and other toxin-free hygiene products. They're on the market.

Fire Up Your Food!

B'SD

29 Tevet, 5776

Today's the last day of the Jewish month Tevet. Tomorrow is the start of Shvat, the month with the Tu B'Shvat holiday that celebrates trees, all growth actually, and GOD's rule over everything.

Tu B'Shvat is often celebrated with a festive meal and I'm putting one together in my community. Here's a message I can share with participants and you, too: Not everything edible is worth swallowing. Some things can seriously damage your health such as:

Wholesome Foods Support YOUR Health. But Processed Foods...

B'SD

23 Tevet, 5776

I've done speaking engagements when listeners were astounded, been scolded by doctors who doubted my claims and fielded social media critics who scoff at my story.

Scientists are vindicating me.

Wholesome foods support health. Industrialized, processed "foods" undermine it.

Scientists argue that processed foods weaken the intestine’s resistance to bacteria, toxins and other hostile nutritional and non-nutritional elements.

There's more data about how synthetic additives and packaging negatively affect the food supply and ruin human health.

Go organic as I did. Watch what happens over time, as toxins leave your body to be replaced by solid nutrition.

Nobody needs synthetic chemicals that undermine human health.
