Here's How to Help Americans with Health Care and Health Insurance Problems

B'SD

9 Tamuz 5772

I  refrained from blogging a few days as I prayed, literally prayed, that Americans would not be suckered in to the misguided policies of Obamacare. I knew it to be modeled on previous "health care" plans that have forced victims of those plans into medical tourism, bribes and utter misery.

The US Supreme Court shocked me with the least democratic, least American decision I've known to come from there. It is a betrayal of the public interest on many levels.

The next phase to watch for is the dearth of doctors willing to work as slaves and rising numbers of Americans unable to pay insurance premiums. American healthcare now goes under the table, hidden from view. Bribes, subterfuge and appalling statistics to follow. Americans will be going to Canada and elsewhere for competent, timely healthcare (it's been happening for a while) IF they survive the present situation well enough to seek out genuine life support.

Think Medicaid can help you? Think again with this legal look at your medical problems.

Obamacare is likely to damage the already limping US economy.

Here's how to help pitiful Americans who need assistance paying for the medical care, medication, medical appliances, medical transportation and other necessities of overcoming illnesses and disability issues:

They can read the soothing, cost-cutting information in a book praised by mental health and medical professionals

The first half of the book provides insights for calming down from all the stresses of a given disability, medical or mental health situation. The second half is a Global Resources section that clues you in to charitable organizations willing to pay part or all of your specific medical bills.

I used my professional background in Health Information Management to write the EMPOWER Yourself book. I created a Global Resources section at the back to clue my readers into charitable organizations that pay for part or all of some specific medical bills if the patient can’t afford the costs.

You’re Latino with a liver disease
but can’t afford medical care?
See page 108.

Need air transportation for an
adult or child’s medical treatment?

EMPOWER Yourself lists
several organizations ready to fly you
and/or your loved one to
necessary treatment centers
at no cost.

Want to get in on clinical trials?

Need a free wheelchair or
other medical appliance at low cost?

How about first-quality medication
at low or zero cost?

Learn how to meet your needs when you read the book.

There are plenty of reasons that I chose the “Face your medical problems with dignity. Face your future with optimism” motto for my book-related blog and Self-Help coaching services. An improving and protected sense of dignity plus ever-better optimism and solid information help ill people to cope with medical, mental health and disability challenges.

You can overcome despair that way, and allow yourself to heal emotionally, even physically despite devastating setbacks.

Medical and mental health professionals recommend the "persevere past emotional and physical pain" message of It's MY Crisis! And I'll Cry If I Need To: EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge. So do clergy of different faiths.

Learn the lessons to help you when you buy the book from the publisher, Booklocker, which ships way faster than online book stores. Go to http://booklocker.com/books/3067.html

And keep praying. Americans need all the help they can get to stay healthy now. US healthcare is in severe crisis

A medical crisis is happening to you, if you're American. Use your tissues and handkerchiefs with my blessings borne of experience. GOD gives you Permission to Weep. And you can say that to any critics after explaining that "It's MY Crisis! And I'll Cry if I Need To." See pages 4-6 about that.

How to End the Dramatic Increase in Abuse of Prescription Painkillers

B'SD

7 Tammuz

This headline article Dramatic Increase in Abuse of Rx Painkillers doesn't address some relevant issues:

  • Men are unfairly pressured to pretend they can cope with heartache and physical pain

  • Men too often feel or believe that they can't trust someone to help them even after courageously admitting they need some sort of help

  • The medical world too often fails to monitor the use of a patient's drug use and potential for drug abuse

  • Society and the medical world need to admit that men are human, deserve compassion and pain relief - psychological, spiritual and physical

We can turn those realities around into a can-do coping strategy. It takes courage, some training by competent therapists and clinicians, an attitude adjustment in society (start a movement among your friends and colleagues!) and a desire to prevent tragedy.

By the way, many of the "Thank you" letters, E-mails and phone calls I receive for

are from men! I suspect that I know why:

  1. The book is FILLED with privacy-protected answers to questions they need/want to ask. Too often men are simply unaware of whom they can trust to answer them and to protect their confidentiality. The EMPOWER Yourself book is a safe outlet with information that men need.
  2. EMPOWER Yourself lets them calm down, read and re-read the sections important to them in the confidential surroundings of their home, office or wherever they read the book.

Men, you deserve many healing, helpful breaks. As I tell my Self-Help Coaching clients and book buyers, "A medical crisis - you'd cry too, if it happened to you. Use your tissues and handkerchiefs with my blessings borne of experience. GOD gives you Permission to Weep. And you can say that to any critics after explaining that 'It's MY Crisis! And I'll Cry if I Need To.'"

Be sure to read pages 4 and 5, to get that FYI on your license to cry.

Hippocrates and Health: WHAT Would He Say Today????

B'SD

6 Tamuz 5772

I had the extraordinary pleasure of meeting Dr. Brian Clement of The Hippocrates Health Institute today. He was one of the presenters at a healing strategies conference I attended. We chatted a bit during a break.

The good doctor validates many of the healing things you'll read about in the blog and in E-book or print edition

Want to know what I learned today?

A) 93% of chemotherapy patients die
despite their "therapy"
even if they've experienced
a remission of their cancer.

B) Autism and diabetes are
the fastest-growing diseases
in the Western world.

Why?

Commercially prepared foods and synthetic medications (including commercially prepared "vitamins") loaded with synthetic this or that, pesticides, coal tar and turpentine (YES) undermine the human immune system.

I can't capably summarize the scientifically validated presentation I witnessed for several hours, but I can assure you that the information is publicly available and ignored, misunderstood or misrepresented.

One more thing: Dr. Clement has helped people to recover from many debilitating diseases and to toss away their medical appliances and medications. He even helps people to lose their cancer without using chemotherapy. How? With pure, life-supporting food and strengthened spiritual efforts.

Hippocrates recommended that centuries ago. So do naturopaths today. You can read about that in EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge. Buy it at http://booklocker.com/books/3067.html

WHAT do you suppose Hippocrates would say if he knew how humanity is ruining its health with every mouthful of non-nutritious junk sold as "food" and with doctors poisoning already fragile bodies?

Breast Cancer Risks On Your Plate

I happen to be preparing a news story about breast thermography and chanced upon information that backs up a claim I've made on this blog and in EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge. That information is at Breast Cancer Risk Factors

In brief, you're probably eating foods that can cause cancer. That's not some vegetarian enthusiast telling you this ladies and gentlemen, it is the commentary from a medically-related business focused on protecting human health.

How to Keep Fractured Arms, Feet, Fingers, and Legs Dry When you Bathe/Shower

B'SD

30 Sivan 5772

One of the things that impressed those medical folks yesterday  was that the cast was intact, not moldy or soft from bath/shower water. The usual advice is to wrap it in a disposable plastic shopping bag and to hope for the best when the person bathes. That rarely works 100%, as I know from personal experience, and from looking at lots of medical records and chatting with people who've endured fractures.

So I came up with an almost foolproof system to protect the integrity of the casting material
and the body parts inside it.

Here's how I've protected the cast to keep it dry. See what this technique does for you!

Wrap a thin cotton towel around an area just above the affected body part - or have someone wrap the towel for you. Tuck in the end and make sure the towel is snug.

THEN encase the area in a plastic bag that you fasten shut by A) Squeezing the ends into "loops" to be tied together shoelace style or  B) Twist the gathered plastic into a tight "rope" and insert it into plastic bag material against your skin. It's the same technique as twisting a towel over wet hair.

You now have absorbent material to soak up accidental "leaks" into the bag. A 2-pronged system for keeping your casted body part(s) dry, it's quite effective.

Okay medical specialists and patients, what do you think of that?

A Remarkable Recovery!

B'SD

29 Sivan 5772

The surgeon and nurse who cut off my cast and bandages yesterday were SHOCKED to see the excellent condition of my foot. The most minimal of swelling and negligible bruising appeared with a very clean incision site.

We "ooh"ed and "ahh"ed together over what resembles a three-week recovery instead of a mere 7 post-operative days. Naturally, they wanted to know why I'm in such good condition.

I replied, "I used the same suggestions found in It’s MY Crisis! And I’ll Cry If I Need To: EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge."

Read the book to learn what it can do for you.

And yes, the doctor took a third and fourth look at my foot so he could believe what he was seeing.

Wish Me Speedy Healing!

B'SD

22 Sivan 5772

I'll be in outpatient surgery when this post goes "live." I'm having a foot deformity surgically corrected so I can walk more easily. Outpatient surgery is a delightful option and I've chosen it so I can heal in the comfort of my home and face the future smiling. I already feel like dancing!

I can't predict how soon I'll be back to my PC and updating the blog. I have to allow the foot to heal as I prop it up to minimize post-surgical swelling. That makes sitting near a desk quite awkward.

I'd appreciate your prayers for a speedy recovery. I hope to update you with some terrific patient-empowering information after I heal.

Want to know how I can be so cheerful in spite of pain, physical limitations and all the life-altering complications that surgery implies?

More on Meningiomas!

B'SD

21 Sivan 5772

I've been so peeved at poor news coverage about meningiomas that I looked up some trustworthy information to share with you (there's more in the book):

Scary stuff. I thank GOD daily for the medical personnel who saved my life. Many others save thousands of lives daily.

Medical problems shock those of us who are not medically educated. You're allowed to cry if you want to. It means you're human, not a heartless wanderer. It also means that you're awed by the new realities facing you. Calm down as you read all about that on pages 4, 5 and 6 of

The Book Sheryl Crow Needs to Read

B'SD

17 Sivan 5772

Anyone listening to or reading the news probably knows by now that singer Sheryl Crow has a Meningioma, the very form of benign brain tumor that almost KILLED me!

What are the odds that she'll avoid future complications NOT being addressed in this news item? I'd say low unless she has a far more astute neurologist and neurosurgeon on her medical team. The doctor quoted in this article makes dismissive comments, as if Meningiomas were as harmless as freckles. True, some people get past their Meningiomas easily. But others face deadly implications. Readers need to know that:

  •  Meningiomas tend to come in pairs
  • Crush nerves
  • Cause cognitive, vision, balance, hearing and other problems.
  •  One Meningioma can hide behind the other and not be detected on MRIs
  • Necessary surgery or Stereotactic Radiation treatments can cause secondary problems
  • The potential for further, crippling damage to the person with the hidden tumor is BIG
  •  Meningiomas can cause death

What a waste of an opportunity to educate the masses, FOX News.

For some of us mortals, Meningiomas can present life and death situations.

That's a medical CRISIS worth crying over.

A medical crisis - you'd cry too, if it happened to you. Use your tissues and handkerchiefs with my blessings borne of experience. GOD gives you Permission to Weep. And you can say that to any critics after explaining that "It's MY Crisis! And I'll Cry if I Need To." Show them page 5 of the book to prove your point.

The Baltimore Sun did a better job of presenting an overview of Meningiomas at Brain Tumor Facts

How to Judge a Book Without Its Cover

B'SD

16 Sivan 5772

While I was taking time off to refresh and to relax, I received some interesting messages on my monitor and phone. I returned home to these E-mail and phone messages:

From GNK: "Hi Yocheved I just want to let you know that I really enjoyed the book. It's MY Crisis! And I'll Cry If I Need To: EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge  is very informative and insightful. I like how you drew sources from many different avenues. May you continue to feel good and help others! When I have more time I want to look into some of the resources in the back."

From JS: "You can help so many people with your story and advice."

RS called me from a different part of the world to say: "I have the same diagnosis you had. I appreciate the ideas in your writings. Thanks so much! Now I know which surgeon I need."

look at his friends."

Vacation Station

B'SD

15 Sivan 5772

I decided to get out in the wider world a bit and took a mini-vacation for a few days. I've seen some pretty flowers, trees and grasses dancing under the breezes in the countryside. Today I watched the waves at lovely Carmel Beach, on my return trip.

Kindhearted people assisted me with my luggage as I traveled on trains, and used staircases. I'm grateful for their gracious generosity of spirit.

I'm simply breathing in the happy memories of the people with whom I interacted, the healing work I've accomplished with people who needed it, and the friendships that have grown stronger with real life interactions.

This blog served as a bit of a Vacation Station as I sought out ideas for innovative content to benefit my readers. I've readied some posts to go "live" in the next few days, by using distant PCs and plain old paper and pen.

Looking forward to your responses to the new content, starting tomorrow,
