National Infertility Awareness Week

B'SD

13 Iyar 5770

I could have realized something was up when I received E-mails and phone calls the past few days, asking me what I recommend for infertility problems, menopause and other hormonal issues. WOW Americans are tuned in to commercial messages!

Er, that's part of the problem. Commercials tout the wonders of hair care products, milk, and coffee, among other heavily advertised goods.

Each of those items hold synthetic hormones wreaking havoc with your health. You can learn more about that by scrolling around this blog.

Anyway, I was tipped off to the existence of National Infertility Awareness Week when I glanced at my Facebook page this morning. Sheesh. If the link doesn't work, you can see the item after joining Facebook.

Want to fill that empty crib?
Cuddle a little loved one
cooing in your arms?

Go organic (no nasty nightmares about unsuspected health hazards) and restore healthy function to your reproductive equipment. You can learn more about that when you read EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge.

How to Explain Epilepsy to Children of All Ages

B'SD

12 Iyar 5770

I once worked in a US school and was horrified to learn that when one specific student fell down a staircase, nobody had reached out to help the child. After she'd been tended to by ambulance workers and sent to a hospital for exams, I asked fellow instructors to explain their shocking insensitivity and everybody else's.

"People in this neighborhood believe she's 'possessed' by the devil," I heard. In 20th century America!

People of all ages can lack
the social sophistication,
compassion and education
that go with adulthood.

Then they foist their foolishness
on the next generation,
creating a pitiful cycle.

Soroka University Medical Center staff strives to end that problem at the Anita Kaufmann Epilepsy Education Center.

Please read
Witches do not cause epilepsy.

Learn how to help yourself, your students, your children and the wider world to develop that social sophistication, compassion and education that children, teens and adults with epilepsy deserve.

Would You Believe THIS Medical Malpractice Story?

B'SD

7 Iyar 5770

"Would You Believe THIS Medical Malpractice Story? "

That's a question I hear often on my speaking tours. And yes, I tend to believe them: Severe pains that turned into undiagnosed appendicitis leading to a burst appendix. A systemic blood infection that led to the loss of corneas and then to lifelong vision problems. An overlooked pneumonia infection in a helpless infant who then suffered respiratory problems. His poorly oxygenated body led to the loss of a tiny hand and fingers that would never stroke mommy's face or hold a toy.

I could go on but you get the idea. You probably know of a medical horror story or two.

Extraordinary Uses for Everyday Items to IMPROVE Your Health & Happiness

B'SD

It's a hectic month and present week as I celebrate Israel's Memorial Day, Holocaust Remembrance Day and Independence Day.

Here's to looking toward an ever-better future with some user-friendly solutions to household and health problems.

Whoda thunk you can cure warts with banana peels, slide the mess out of burned cookware with mere baking soda and nourish your plants with beer (good-bye slugs!)?

Pass the antacids, I have a hunch they'll get my home cleaner ;^ )

Extraordinary uses for everyday items.

Go Green and Dance with Me!

B'SD

1 Iyar 5770

I'm heartened on a whole new level after speaking at a health-oriented conference today. Participants are on to GOOD habits!

We lunched on organic foods with fine dining: beautifully prepared quiches, grains, sauces, salads and side dishes. Nobody left hungry though some participants are still acclimating to a more healthful manner of eating.

On an interesting side note: my co-presenter, alternative healing health practitioner Marina Rogechovsky, promoted her business by speaking of two patients who dramatically demonstrate the benefits of her colonic hydrotherapy and ozone treatments: a woman from Canada and me.

Marina has witnessed my physical and health transformation from the time I met her while leaning heavily on a cane and peering through thick, heavy glasses in 2006 to the moment I danced before today's crowd to demonstrate my now excellent health, agility and improved sight. Imagine how much business she gained from that experience!

I left the event without a single business card. My entire stash was eagerly shared by the audience members. My health coaching calendar is filling up ;^ )

Want to join the fun? Read EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge. You just might end up dancing with me in spirit as your health improves.

PS - Empower Yourself is an E-book that won't harm the environment. Go Green when you read it and eat according to the life-enhancing advice there. And oh yes - Marina Rogechovsky's contact information appears in the Global Resources section in the back of the book.

Leave the Trauma. Live Your Life!

B'SD

29 Nisan 5770

Leave the trauma. Live Your Life!

Yes, your medical situation is painful. Heartache, physical pain that medications might not help, fear and, well, fill in the blanks.

You're facing unspeakable misery. But you can survive it. Make staying alive your hobby. Pursue health as much as you can. Pretend to be cheerful until you actually think of something funny or pleasant to say or do.

I have no control over how long you'll live, keep some of your body parts or how well medical intervention will work for you. But I know one thing: you can grab life by the collar, no matter how wispy it seems, and decide "I WANT MORE! I WANT BETTER!" Then make it so.

Behave with dignity. Thank the people trying to help you: aides, nurses, doctors, relatives, friends, strangers and neighbors. Cry as necessary, then commit yourself to coping with the problems you have. Find solutions.

Exercise hurts? Do 5 minutes instead of 10. Eating upsets you? Be sure to swallow basic nutrients and nibble away the rest of whatever's on your plate and tray.

What are you talking about? Aches? Pains? Anger? Disfigurement? Mourning? Anything negative? Does your voice have that "I must have said this 1000s of times already?" drone to it? Improve the sound.

STOP living in the trauma.
Live Your Life!

Look for joyous moments: lovely skylines, a hug, footrub, or lack of complications in some regard. You have a new "Normal." Go for the Gusto as best you can. Seize happiness, maximize pleasures no matter how small or big. FOCUS on them. Say pleasant things so people can hear you. Look for their signs of relief at hearing you speak this way. Share it.

Now, snuggle up in your bed or chair, wherever you may be, and bask in your victory. You're ALIVE, and proud of your behavior. You can repeat it, too.

The future can unfold with richer experiences. Let it. If you wish, share your richer experiences with me at Giveretgolani@gmail.com

Boiling the Frog in the Health Care Bog

B'SD

23 Nisan 5770

I'm sorry I don't have warm, fuzzy reassuring news to share with you, today. Instead, I offer a wisely considered essay about the poorly crafted Health Care Reform legislation now haunting the USA. The remarks are by world-class public speaker and businessman Randy Gage:
Boiling the Frog in the Health Care Bog.

Yep, "Unfortunately for the administration, they omitted to deal with one pesky little chink in the armor... That is the Security and Exchange Commissions rule requiring companies to restate their earnings to reflect present value of long-term health plan liabilities."

I won't be surprised, but I will be quite sad, to learn of Americans dying or suffering otherwise avoidable harm because of this poorly considered legislation. The wool has been pulled over American eyes.

It could kill or severely harm you.

DON'T LET THAT HAPPEN! Buy your self-help, do-it-yourself healthcare plan today! EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge.
