Sellout!

B'SD

4 Tevet 5769

Last night I spoke to a crowd about my book. My supply of colorful copies was gone within minutes of ending my presentation. A neurologist in the crowd congratulated me for helping people to understand that "We can make the best of what's left" after a devastating medical experience.

The decision to go forward is up to each of us. The possibilites are unknown.

The audience was well aware of my vision problems and that I am still under considerable medical care. They appreciated my "Go for it!" attitude knowing full well that my sight is unpredictable. Doctors have explained to me that I literally see a different picture each time I blink. It doesn't stop people from cheerfully supplying a helpful arm to assist me when I walk on stairs or bumpy terrain. In fact, my desire to persevere motivates people to step forward when I need assistance.

You can buy a copy of my book by clicking on the right-hand margin. Look for the colorful hotlink and get your copy of my "Lifebook for Drying Your Tears and Coping with a Medical Challenge" today!

Here's looking to the future. Please mark the start of 2009, and your entire future, with reasonable care.

How to Stay Upbeat if You've Been Feeling Down

B'SD

Third Day of Chanuka 5769

Holiday season making you feel sad?

I want to share a smile with you. While I was at a friends' party this past week, a gentleman in the crowd asked "Are you the lady who wrote that book about coping with illness? Like how to get help for getting better, all around the world? How to stay upbeat if you're feeling down and sick?"

"Yes, that's me," I smiled. He promptly bought two copies. I asked what he does for a living and the man replied "I'm a psychiatric nurse. I heard about your book and how much it cheers people up. You really give your readers a sense of optimism. I had wanted to buy your book, and now that I just heard about the Resources section in it, I had to come over and get a few copies for work."

OK, folks. You know what to do. Check out the right-hand margin of my blog and click on the hotlink for buying your copy of my book today. Make someone feel happier this holiday season (including yourself!).

Borderline Diabetics Beware!

B'SD

21 Kislev 5769

Whew, it's tiring to be on the road, and a bit perplexing. I have to keep checking on the date and location to keep my focus sharp. The good news is that readers are buying my book and thanking me for alerting them to can-do lifesaving measures.

Check out my latest post below about why YOU need to drink more water and far less fizzy stuff. Pop, soda, carbonated soft drinks, whatever you care to call those beverages, you're swallowing over 3,600 spoonfuls of unnecessary sugar each year when you guzzle conveniently bottled and highly sweetened drinks.

SWEETENED BEVERAGE CONSUMPTION INCREASES IN THE U.S.

The January 2009 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reveals that in the past 20 years or so, the number of adults consuming sugar-sweetened beverages such as soft drinks, fruit drinks and punches shot up. "More adults are drinking sugar-sweetened beverages and, among those drinkers, consumption has increased," said Sara N. Bleich, PhD, lead author of the study and assistant professor with the Bloomberg School's Department of Health Policy and Management. "From 1988 to 2004, the percentage of sugar-sweetened beverage drinkers increased five percent. Per capita consumption of energy from sugar-sweetened beverages increased 46 kilocalories (kcal) per day, and daily sugar-sweetened beverage consumption among drinkers increased 6 ounces per day."

Now do you understand why your diets might not be working? You're literally washing down excess calories with every sip of of heavily advertised soft drink. Those advertising execs are no fools. They've hijacked your brain cells and expanded your waistline with the same effort. It's good for their wallets and BAD for your health.

Has your doctor warned you that you're a Borderline Diabetic? Diabetes is a lifelong health crisis. You can avoid it by ending your thirst with clean, clear water that flushes wastes from your body.

Don't believe me? Read on.

"Although this analysis does not attempt to estimate the effect of sugar-sweetened beverage intake on obesity incidence, a number of studies have linked sugar-sweetened beverage consumption to obesity and type 2 diabetes," said Youfa Wang, MD, PhD, author and associate professor with the Bloomberg School's Center for Human Nutrition. "Based on these nationally representative surveys, our study found higher sugar-sweetened beverage consumption also happened to be among populations at greater risk for obesity. There are few signs of improvement over the past decade and the situation seems to become worse among young adults aged 20 to 44."

The experts who prepared the report mentioned above recommend that reducing sugar-sweetened beverage consumption may be an important strategy for reducing empty calorie intake in the adult diet. And it's not rocket science to figure out that as you get fatter, your glucose level goes bonkers.

Skip the nightmare of lifelong insulin dependence and constant checking of your blood. Bypass restrictive diets.

Toss the colorful bottled beverages and DRINK CLEAR, GOOD-FOR-YOU WATER.

OK, I have to get back on the road. Imagine me lifting a glass of sparkling water and clicking glasses with you.

To your good health, Yochi/Yoji

Enhance Your Brainpower with...

B'SD

11 Kislev 5769

I'm getting a headache from the somewhat cavalier attitude that part of the medical world seems to show to the rest of us.

We have proof that many drugs harmed the people they were supposed to help; people suffering some sort of medical problem. Read my recent posts. You don't have to be Einstein to understand this phenom.

Granted, medical professionals make mistakes even though their efforts might come from a genuine desire to prevent harm and to promote health. That consideration makes the announcement above all the more striking: A) Why haven't allegedly smart people learned from past mistakes? B) Why on earth should anyone try to fix what isn't broken? Healthy people don't NEED drugs. Read the ethical considerations about this trend when you click on NATURE magazine.

You want to enhance your IQ?
Improve your ability to remain awake and alert for longer periods of time?
Avoid things that can upset your quality of life?

Take the safe direction to reach those goals. Read high-quality literature, attend interesting presentations and lectures. Listen to and study music, math, a foreign language. Eat a highly nutritious diet and skip the junk food (I've probably told you in the past that junk food is another name for Brain Drain).

And read my book, while sipping on a luscious latte. My blog demonstrates why both are sensible tools for preventing the drug-induced and other man-made problems plaguing the planet's human population. BUY YOUR COPY TODAY!

To your good health and alert mind,

Air, Food and Water Pollution Harms Your WHAT?????????

B'SD

11 Kislev 5769

Sighhhh... I've clued you in to the value of organic foods, invited you to a global summit on natural hormone therapies that solve many medical problems, alerted you to the dangers of melamine in your baby's bottle and yet...

Some of my book and blog readers remain skeptical. Ya kinda wonder if I'm giving advice that could apply to you, too. Well, check this out, fella:

(I tidied up the text of that link with G-rated vocabulary)

Remember Dr. Yaffa, who ran that Bioidentical Hormone Information Summit advertised in my book and blog? He tells me "My male patients have hormone weakness. In my internet seminar one doctor quoted the statistic of how low the sperm count has gotten; just one notch lower is deemed infertile (while many men are there already)." sigh... Now, back to MY comments:

If you're wondering how to enhance your chances of fathering children, living a healthier life and anything else pertaining to stable hormones, start asking questions of your doctor, of local organic food sellers, and of librarians who can point you out to relevant information. Sometimes you can learn so much more with a good book
(LIKE MINE) than you can on the 'Net.

Simple Steps for Coping with Medical Crises

B'SD

7 Kislev 5769

Some title, huh? It is NOT simple or easy to cope with a medical crisis, and that's why the word CRISIS applies to the situation. Your life or someone else's is falling apart as the medical problem dominates your thoughts and energies (what's left of them, anyway).

However... there are techniques for mastering your emotions and the crazy schedule in your medically muddled life. There are simple, safe and productive steps you can take to minimize the hectic, bewildering situation.

I've faced multiple medical crises. I wrote a book about my astonishing recovery and how that happened. The advice and insights that I share in It's My Crisis! And I'll Cry if I Need To: A Life Book that Helps You to Dry Your Tears and to Cope with a Medical Challenge are universal. My approach works for medical professionals and the people they're treating. You, for instance. find out when you BUY YOUR COPY today.

Humor is a huge part of any successful coping process.
I use it liberally throughout my book
and speaking engagements.

North American audiences
will experience that soon.
I leave for my speaking tour next week.

This post has been brought to you by my enduring promotional efforts to inform the world at large about my book... the commercial you were all waiting for.

Make a Wish in Many Languages

B'SD

6 Kislev 5769

Kislev is a month filled with the light of Chanuka and miraculous rescue for the Jewish people. But Jews around the world are still weeping for the recent, tragic loss of life in India. I've struggled to work towards something worthwhile as my response to the horror. Here is an initial effort:

Not everyone survives a medical crisis. It is our moral human duty to behave compassionately with people facing the foreseeable ends of their lives. The American "Make a Wish" foundation is famous for helping younger people to fulfill lifelong dreams. Today's post publicizes the Israeli version, which lets terminally ill children make a wish in Arabic or Hebrew. Read all about it when you click on"Mishelet Lev."

CLICK HERE to reach the Mishelet Lev website.

It's MY Crisis! addresses terminal illness and resources for coping with it, as well as strategies for overcoming medical problems. Buy a copy of the book when you CLICK HERE.

May our lives be filled with life-sustaining blessings, abounding joy and enduring peace.

A Simple Solution for Psoriasis?

B'SD

4 Kislev 5769

Sunlight and ocean water, not eating dairy or wheat products for a while, and drinking more water can be very helpful for psoriasis. Now there's another psoriasis soother on the market.

The medical world abounds with advances in health care based simply on nature. Psoriasis sufferers will appreciate this news about a treatment with no known adverse effects - and it's more affordable than some harsher alternatives:

Indigo Extract Effective Treatment for Psoriasis

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Taiwanese investigators report that an ointment made from an extract of Indigo naturalis is effective in treatment-resistant plaque psoriasis -- and the treatment appears to be safe.

Indigo naturalis is a plant that is the source of a dark blue dye. The extract has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of psoriasis, the researchers explain in the Archives of Dermatology.

Forty-two patients with recalcitrant plaque psoriasis applied indigo naturalis ointment or vehicle (sham ointment) topically to two symmetrical psoriatic plaque lesions on each side of the body for 12 weeks...
